The Consort will be performing 3 short sets over the period of the conference. While the times and details of our involvement is yet to be announced, have a look at the Choralfest 2019 website for some insight in to the main schedule.
Join the Consort in the heart of the city for a free public event sponsored by the City of Perth. This will feature an octet and projected art on the outside surfaces of the church adjacent to ‘The Painted Bird Bar’.
Stay tuned on our mailing list or Facebook group for updates from our rehearsals.
This Christmas, Voyces and The Giovanni Consort join forces for the first time to present Season’s Greetings, a spectacular program of old and new music. Featuring Sara Macliver, both choirs will take you across hundreds of years of Christmas music, from traditional settings to modern re-imaginings with pieces for both small and large ensembles.
The Giovanni Consort are delighted to return to the Denmark Festival of Voice in 2017, where this year we will present an array of masterpieces that celebrate the emotional power created by A Cappella singing. Choral Masterworks will take you on a journey from Renaissance times to the present day, exploring the highlights of composers well known for their skills at writing for voice. These include Tallis, Byrd, Rheinberger, Britten, Poulenc, Bruckner and Arvo Part as well as many others. The Giovanni Consort will deliver a concert of both sacred and secular vocal music that will create a deep impression on listeners, encouraging them to explore the works of these composers once they have left. They invite anyone who shares a passion for the human voice to attend this performance and rejoice in the celebration of Choral Masterworks.
The Giovanni Consort turns 20
The Giovanni Consort is celebrating 20 years of music making this year and we are gearing up for The Giovanni Consort's 20th Anniversary Concert at Perth Town Hall on Saturday, September 19th at 7:30pm.
We are delighted to be joined by founding directors David Gething and Andrew Sutherland, and are pleased to say that previous conductor, and Director of Music at St George's Cathedral, Simon Lawford will also direct part the performance. We are sampling many different choral, and polychoral textures, in music by Palestrina, Gibbons, Parry, Rachmaninov, Whitacre and Perth’s own, Perry Joyce.
This concert is a fundraiser for future events by The Giovanni Consort and is not part of the 2015 subscription season.
We would advise you to book tickets early to avoid disappointment.
Tickets are $35 (adults), $30 (concession) and $20 (student).
